There have been several threads here about shortened M1910 Entrenching Tools, their origin and whether they are Marine or Airborne. I now have two distinct versoins of these modified examples of WW2 field equipment. I feel that the versions with the modified spade, giving it a rounder edge and shortened "T"-Handle is Marine. This is based on the fact that often these examples show remains of the Forest Green paint seen on Marine Equipment used it he PTO. I believe the Airborne versions have an unmodified spade edge, unmodified "T"-Handle, and was painted standard OD after the handle was shortened.
