Just picked this one up over the weekend. Wasn't cheep, but it also wasn't pictured in the estate listing so I was able to grab it easy enough. Helmet was brought home by Cpl Edward G Wagner from Minnesota, who served with the 12th Army Group from inception through the end of the war. The 12th Group was Omar Bradly's group, which commanded the majority of US troops in Europe.

Helmet liner is marked size 53 (wow thats tiny). Has a heavy overpaint and no signs of decals or naming whatsoever. The vents and liner pins are all painted red, with the names of larger cities painted in white below, all with arrows pointing up towards United States.

An unique piece for sure...but I sure wish it had a note about coming home from Normandy attached!
