Jeffrey Magut Posted June 10, 2017 Share #3 Posted June 10, 2017 The Medical Detachment of an Infantry Regiment would have had their dogtags marked this way prior to the order to scratch off identifying information on tags in the warzone. The deleted information on your tag is 132, as James Charles Kloboucnik of Chicago was a Pvt 1st Class in the medical detachment of the 132nd Infantry Regt, sailing on the Mt Vernon on 5/16/18. RHS_JPott Posted June 13, 2017 Share #6 Posted June 13, 2017 I find some possibly interesting info on this by searching for his Name. Not sure if it's the same guy, but the name and timeline matches up https://www.ancestry.com/boards/surnames.kloboucnik/1.1.1.1/mb.ashx Looks like this guy shortened his name to Klob after graduating from Dental School. he is buried in Calvary Cemetery La JuntaOtero CountyColorado https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=73518511&ref=acom which also lines up because you found the tag in Colorado. BILL THE PATCH Posted June 13, 2017 Author Share #7 Posted June 13, 2017 Nice job Josh, hmmmmm...when when did you get ancestry. Now that i know you have it, I'm going to be a pain in the rump. RHS_JPott Posted June 13, 2017 Share #8 Posted June 13, 2017 lol, I dont have it.....it just popped up in a google search (free view). James Charles Kloboucnik's grandson posted on a board that he was looking for info about his family, I got lucky on the search results. The father of James Charles Kloboucnik immigrated from the CZR and settled in Chicago, (which makes sense since he shipped out of Chicago).
