Page-Hendryx Posted April 7, 2025 #101 Posted April 7, 2025 This one is interesting, as it originally came from Brooks Uniform Co., in NYC.

Wade20th Posted April 7, 2025 #103 Posted April 7, 2025 Nevermind. I was thinking of WW2 Era dress uniforms. Sorry

JohnK83882 Posted May 3, 2025 #105 Posted May 3, 2025 Now it's just the cover. Internet Archive cut access to a lot of copyrighted material.
ScottG Posted May 5, 2025 #106 Posted May 5, 2025 The Hawaiian uniforms are quite interesting to me. My Grandfather was in Hawaii in 41 with the 34th Infantry prior to them being made a part of the 24th Division and sailed with them to the Philippines on Dec 12th of 41. Of course he never made it and was instead rerouted to Australia and then New Guinea. I can only imagine the various styles of uniforms he saw prior to the attack on Pearl Harbor with the call up of National Guard and all. This is a great topic and the uniforms are great. Scott
Chuckman1108 Posted May 17, 2025 #107 Posted May 17, 2025 My grandfather, (8/31/25-1/31/26 Co D, 26th Inf., Plattsburg, NY; 9/30/27-5/31/30, Batt G, 14th CA, Ft Worden, Wa, SN 6529051). I'd love to find any of his unit's stuff.

I'd love to find any of his unit's stuff. Great pic. The uniform your grandfather is wearing in this pic is more than likely his earliest. With the stand-up collar and the presence of unit DUIs, this places the timeline right before the Army made the switch to the open collar on the service coats in 1926.

atb Posted May 17, 2025 #110 Posted May 17, 2025 The DUI is for the 26th Infantry. That should mean he was part of the 1st Division. The image look too fuzzy to make out the details of the collar disks.
Sargavius Posted August 1, 2025 #111 Posted August 1, 2025 Here I got mine, named, it's an interwar model although it was made in 1941...possibly one of the last m1926 to be used as it is missing ribbons including the mostly ww2 awards
mysteriousoozlefinch Posted January 10 #112 Posted January 10 Purchased this enlisted man's coat at an estate sale. It's not in great shape, but it stuck out to me for being a transition-era coat. Definitely the heavier sort of wool and a lot of stitching under the collar. There are holes for discs and some sparse thread bits that seem to show shoulder insignia. There are no tags inside I could find.

Note the closed button hole under the lower lapel. Look for a label in the hem under the lining.

Look for a label in the hem under the lining. That was my take as well, atb, along with the material and the way the collar has been pieced together. It's also missing the patch pockets, just the flap and buttons on mine though no new pocket, which Gil Sanow mentioned in a thread quite a while ago were donors for the collar material. I know some folks have posted about the Pennsylvania National Guard and other conversions, was this the standard sort of stitch work underneath? There are no labels left anywhere I can find, I looked under the lining first thing. Not sure if it was cut or torn out at some point.
