paul kennedy Posted May 17, 2017 Share #1 Posted May 17, 2017 I found this in an antique store today, and am intrigued by the traces of a circular patch on the front of the cap. I understand airborne officers had a circular patch in this spot. Were there any other units that had them also? The inside is named Collins and I believe 0-114294 on one side, and L.C. on the other. Any help or opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

siege1863 Posted May 17, 2017 Share #3 Posted May 17, 2017 The service number (0-114204) comes back to Lawrence (nmi) Collins who is shown to have been an officer in the Field Artillery.
Rakkasan187 Posted May 17, 2017 Share #4 Posted May 17, 2017 Airborne Officers would have normally worn the glider/parachute circular patch on the opposite side of the garrison cap and the individuals rank would have been where the ghost of the circular patch is.. KurtA Posted May 17, 2017 Share #7 Posted May 17, 2017 Being FA, it's possible it was a cloth red disk with rank pinned to it.
