Recent pick up. Not bright, but not "tarnished". More of a dull finish. Marked "VIKING" on the anchor cross bar, left side, when looking at the reverse. I there is something stamped on the right cross bar. I don't think is says sterling, but it may as it's just not clear enough to be definite. Is it pre-ww2?

Looks WW2-ish to me. The eagle's head is facing to it's right (post-1941) instead of to it's left (pre-1941).

WW2 up to Korea (maybe even a bit later) style. The other anchor crossbar probably is marked 1/20 10K GF or something similar.

It was a good grab. I guess I need to find a PT / Tin Can tan crusher that needs a little buddy. Thanks for the input! Always appreciated.

A touch of steel wool and POW...this was exposed

STER + 1/20 10K

In the future, you might want to stay away from steel wool for your insignia cleaning needs.

Oh I know better. I didn't rub it hard, and I wouldn't use it on the front.
