Here is a Chinese student cap that was used in The Sand Pebbles movie. I have had this for years. There is a certificate from the movie studio that authenticates the cap. I have included some stills from the movie and some Yangtze Patrol items.

Great items and I love that movie. The scene when they raise the flag before attacking the boom always gets the blood flowing.

Yup, remember that student well from the movie and how it was Candace's favorite student and ironically Holman puts the axe in his stomach at the boom.

Great stuff,

Incredible coincidence, I got it from Amazon yesterday would you believe, never had it, I would borrow it once in a blue moon from my friend who lived across the street (moved last year out to the Island). Thought it was high time I got a DVD copy of my own :D

Great to see someone preserving an original artiifact from one of the greatest movies ever. Nothing can beat Richard Crenna fighting in dress whites with a sword in one hand and a .45 in the other.

KASTAUFFER

If the hat was filmed sitting on a table rather than on someones head in the film then would it be a prop? It's semantics.

Dick- Great item!

Owen and Kurt,

You are correct the cap is a costume not a prop. I have made hundreds of theatrical props over the last 40 years and I should know the difference. Sorry, I know most people wouldn't care but using proper terms is important.
