Often they came in small boxes that could be easily mailed to the folks at home. Yours look to be WW2 based on material. They come in a myriad of styles/ designs for almost every location with military (Camp, Fort. Field). Most sell for $15 or less. Those with aircraft, marines, and airborne (to name a few) are more desirable and can go considerably higher. They have been around since WW1 (usually wool construction) and continued to be made in numbers into the 1960s. WW1 examples will bring a higher price and post WW2 ones tend to sell for less.
