HS9 first time around the squadron was active from 1956 to 1968, this is the first squadron patch and construction looks to be 50's to me,

A well worn Japanese made Helicopter Antisubmarine Squadron Eight (HELASRON EIGHT) jacket patch, c.1960s.

A Japanese made Helicopter Antisubmarine Squadron 6 Jacket patch worn by then Lieutenant Leonard A. Campbell in 1957. Per his certificate, Campbell qualified as a helicopter pilot on 28 February 1957 and was assigned to HELASRON-6 on 14 April 1957. He left the squadron in 1958.
