Yes, but it is not a DI. DIs were not worn until c. 1922 for the earliest.

I have seen a couple variations and these were attached to overseas caps,on the knot of the CdG shoulder cord,pocket flap etc.

 

Some were very ornate and done in enamel as yours and some rather simply done from stamped/struck brass.

 

Not official but worn typically by a returning veteran as a insignia of the unit.
