What he offered to me was too good to pass as it's probably the best looking jacket in my collection. 9th AF Troop Carrier Glider Pilots Ike jacket with bullion wings sewn on blue felt backing. The Flight Officer rank insignia are also bullion and sewn onto the shoulders. The ribbons are Air Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Purple Heart and ETO campaign with two battle stars. Troop Carrier Command dui's are on the epaulettes. British made felt 9th AF and Troop Carrier patches are on the sleeves.Although the jacket is not named, the garrison cap which was included has potentially the initials RLS and possibly a partial serial number. From the ribbons, I would guess that the Glider Pilot participated in Market Garden and Varsity.The crusher cap and shirt wasn't part of the set. Neil.
