Hi,

Silly question and picky I know, but I want to get the right sandbags for my display. What would be the indicators that a sandbag was a WW2 era sandbag? Were they issued on an individual basis for each Soldier/Marine to carry for use in the field and if so, how many per person? Thanks!

268th C.A.

I have never heard of sandbags being issued.WW2 era sand bags I've seen and filled. Were all burlap and the same size as the new nylon type. I dont remember anything being stamped or printed on them.

Unless one lucks out and finds some in an Old surplus store just go to a industrial safety supply house, where we/ I got mine years ago. May have to change the nylon or other synthetic tie string to close them. Packing peanuts and spray foam make good filler, lots lighter.
