usknivesnmore Posted April 27, 2017 Share #1 Posted April 27, 2017 Hello, I was born in a little village near Bastogne, one of the biggest battle for US Army in WWII, and till 10 years old, I collect items from battlefield. My first piece was a german helmet found in a german foxhole. Twenty years ago, i changed my focus and only collect US WWII knives. I prefer non official knives as John EK, Baker, Richtig... but also have M3, MK1, MK2 and more. Here are a part of my collection I will post more pics later. Happy to be on the place where I can learn more about knives and more. All the best Usknivesnmore

I live just down the road from you, in northern Lorraine, where France & Luxembourg borders meet. Like you, I am an avid knife collector, including dozens of "knucked" blades as well as more traditional GI specimens. I am also an avid collector of F-S, Gerber and Randall pieces - the Gerber and Randall from 'Nam era and later. Also several other 'Nam era fighting knives, i.e., the usual CIA / MACV-SOG hardware, but also several LF&C "theater-modified" (ie, guards cut down) for use in 'Nam. I was stationed @ Ft Benning and Ft Bragg in the late 1970s and it was @ these locales that I found most of my pieces via garage/yard sales put on by guys still in the USArmy who'd been @ theater during 'Nam and some even during Korea. Got a lot more than merely fighting knives from these fellas; lots of other weapons, field gear, and maybe best of all stories of their careers and experiences. My own "theater" time was spent as a FAO in the USSR for several years, so my "theater" was Afghanistan, on/off, during the early 1980s, the really "dirty" campaigns.
