Help ID'ing 45th? Infantry DUI

This DUI has the same thunderbird as the 45th Infantry, but it is reversed. Red on white, not yellow on red. Shield shaped and not diamond.

 

Marked Meyers, New York on the back.

 

Help ID'ing, please. Straight back pin, not clutch backed. From the 50's?

This is the DI for the West High School JROTC, Phoenix Az.

 

I would place the date on this from the late 40's to the 60's.
