I have been collecting WWII German Militaria for over 20 years and have been member of the Wehrmacht-Awards Forum (InfanterieSammler) since 2001. Only recently, I've decided to take the plunge into collecting WWII US militaria. I am very excited to join this forum to learn the members and contribute when I can.

Hello John, welcome to the forum. With your new interest you can show off both sides of war in the ETO. What`s the reason for the 26th division patch?

My goal is have a more balanced "Western Front" collection. Having both sides represented will, I feel, tell a more complete story of the conflict.

 

The 26th "Yankee Division" patch, is a nod to my home state of Massachusetts. It is also, the unit of my first Ike tunic!

Hello John! Have two uniforms from a vet, he started with the 26th, then he was in the 83rd during the war, and after the war again in the 26th.
