trenchbuff Posted April 9, 2017 #1 Posted April 9, 2017 Thought I would post a couple helmets from my collection that illustrate the new face of warfare that came out of the First World War. First is a helmet ID'd to a Sergeant and has the typical Chemical insignia from WW1. Also included some insignia used by enlisted members of the 1st Gas and Flame Regiment.
trenchbuff Posted April 9, 2017 Author #2 Posted April 9, 2017 This next helmet has a Chemical insignia that I've never seen before. It has the typical colors of that service and is ID'd to a Captain in the Chemical Warfare Service. I've also included the Gas and Flame Officer insignia.
tdogchristy90 Posted April 9, 2017 #3 Posted April 9, 2017 Great helmets. I think most are aware of gas being synonymous with ww1. To see helmets tied to their units brings it home. Great helmets.
David D Posted April 10, 2017 #5 Posted April 10, 2017 Beautiful helmets. Thanks for remembering the men of these seemingly forgotten units.
Navybean Posted April 10, 2017 #6 Posted April 10, 2017 Nice helmets Mark, great to see some of your collection.
beerdragon54 Posted April 10, 2017 #7 Posted April 10, 2017 As a past member of the Chemical Corps I love seeing this. I'm constantly looking for items related to our part in the service. If you decide to part one day keep me in mind. Beautiful!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
ParanormalTrooper Posted April 14, 2017 #10 Posted April 14, 2017 Awesome helmets and cool items to go along with them. Thanks for posting

Primoris Scio Posted December 1, 2021 #13 Posted December 1, 2021 Is there a list for the Chem Corps units that were part of the AEF in France, or was it only the 1st Gas Regiment?
