Formed 31 Jul 43; Activated 1 Oct 1943, Malir Cantonment, Karachi

The 1st Bombardment Group was composed of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Bomb Squadrons (Provisional). In addition to the Bombardment Group the CACW had two Fighter Groups: 3d Fighter Group (Provisional) composed of the 7th, 8th, 28th and 32nd Fighter Squadrons (Provisional); and 5th Fighter Group (Provisional) composed of the 17th, 26th, 27th and 29th Fighter Squadrons (Provisional).
