Hawk914 Posted October 15, 2008 Share #1 Posted October 15, 2008 A recent thread by willysmb44 inspired me to share some of my photochops... These are all composite images made using Photoshop. 'The Duel' Here's the original photo, taken by 'Vlado' on the Warbird Information Exchange forum. The B-17s were taken from a vintage photo and the 109 from a modern airshow photo. 'Lone Bandit' Here's the original photo, taken by Charles Ward. The Fw 190 was added using a photo of one of the Flug Werk replicas taken by Andreas Zeitler. (More info HERE.) 'Souvenir Hunting' I know this isn't a US subject, but I thought I'd toss it in anyway... Here's the original photo, taken by Jim Landon. A number of other photos were used to add various elements to the final image. (More info HERE.) And here's a fun little thing I did a long while back. The main photo was found on one of the NASA websites, and the U-2/TR-1 was a photo of a friend's scale model. The telephone poles were made from images found on the web, and the smoke trails were done by hand. Somehow, a beagle and his Sopwith Camel snuck in there while I wasn't looking... Sometime back I put together a very basic tutorial on how to make a simple composite image... you can see it HERE. It's actually poorly written, but it should prove a sufficient guide. That tutorial was done using Photoshop CS2... if you have an image editing program other than PS, you should still be able to use this tutorial as a basic guide, but I'd recommend looking for another tutorial online that's more specific to the program you're using.
