Flashlarue Posted March 26, 2017 Share #1 Posted March 26, 2017 I don't know if this is where I should put this but here goes. Found yesterday at an antique mall in a bin with a bunch of junk Japan camping gear. This is an 1913 dated Mills Woven Cartridge Belt Co. web belt. It is in beautiful condition and came with a nice WW1 canteen and a WW2 canteen carrier for $6. I wonder where it has been for the last 100 years. mhalstead1950 Posted March 27, 2017 Share #8 Posted March 27, 2017 Great buy, rarely happens in antique stores but it is always worth a look and this is one of those few lucky times where you find a deal, congrats.
Big Al Posted March 27, 2017 Share #9 Posted March 27, 2017 It is a very early second pattern M1912 pistol belt. The first pattern belts had the center row of eyelets ends a few inches before the end of the belt because the punch dies used to make the M1910 revolver belt were being utilized in the manufacture of the M1912 belts. That belt had four pockets on the left-hand end of the belt for revolver cartridges, as shown below. The dies were altered by 1913 to punch holes in the center all the way to the end of the belt.
