seanmc1114 Posted October 14, 2008 #2 Posted October 14, 2008 General Deane (note the spelling) was an Assistant Division Commander of the 1st Infantry Division and Commander of the 173rd Aitbotne Brigade in Vietnam. After the war, he was Commander of the 82nd Airborne Division Division. Here is a link to his biography on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_R._Deane,_Jr. He earned his first Distinguished Service Cross with the 1st in 1966. This makes number 6 for me but my first with an autograph.
