Tonomachi Posted March 20, 2017 Share #1 Posted March 20, 2017 I found this plaque at the flea market for 5 dollars. They used a pair of silver pin back dolphin qualification pins along with the center brass piece. The inscriptions says, "Senior Chief Fire Control Technician Samuel Geslie Powell Chief of the Boat USS DANIEL BOONE (SSBN629) Presented in warm recognition of his outstanding service to his Ship and Shipmates". zsmith Posted March 20, 2017 Share #2 Posted March 20, 2017 Very cool. These plaques used to be fairly common back in the day but they really aren't awarded that much anymore. Now it's mostly special order stuff or something made by a fellow crew member. I have one of these from my first boat that was given to me when I left.
