mds308 Posted March 18, 2017 Share #1 Posted March 18, 2017 From the WWII Coastal Artillery group I purchased. There were three DUI's. One from Coastal Artillery School and one for the US Army 503rd Coastal Artillery. This one has the motto Pro Patria (For Country) but this motto was for the US Army 31st Infantry too. Obviously, this is not their logo. This DUI was made by H.R. Newcome in New York City. I was unable to get any information on the maker too. Any help would be greatly appreciated. KurtA Posted March 18, 2017 Share #4 Posted March 18, 2017 Any information on this maker? I'm going to assume another WWII contract. Pre-WW2. Their WW2 era DUI's are sterling and pin back.

KurtA Posted March 18, 2017 Share #6 Posted March 18, 2017 Just to clarify. The DUI's Newcombe manufactured during WW2 were sterling and pin back (a unique pin back bar applied to the reverse). I don't think they produced a DUI for this particular DUI in sterling pin back.

mds308 Posted March 19, 2017 Author Share #8 Posted March 19, 2017 This came from the same estate. I had posted this image in the 'Homefront' category and didn't realize the possible connection until now. Kind of cool. Would this have been the same unit as the device shown above?
