digi-shots Posted March 16, 2017 Share #1 Posted March 16, 2017 I posted a few pics of these shirts in the uniform section when I first got them. I knew there was a skydiving "flite-suit" that went with the grouping and I've been chasing after it since... well, I recently was able to get the suit. All the items pictured here came from the same US Navy veteran's estate. The shirts are ID's to Cr. John Boyd, now deceased. He graduated UDT Class 29, Coronado in December 1962. His career included two 2 Vietnam deployments and was assigned to various Naval Warfare Units, including UDT-11, SEAL Team 1 (West Coast) , UDT-22 and Special Boat Squadron Two (East Coast). The suit is not named, however, it does look very similar to the Navy Parachute Team colors. For a while, Cdr. Boyd was stationed on the East Coast and could very well have jumped with the East Coast "Chuting Stars" during their practice jumps. Thanks for looking! treetop Posted March 17, 2017 Share #4 Posted March 17, 2017 Nice grouping. You ought to be able to contact the "Chuting Stars" parachute team to gain info on your subject The Army PT keeps records of former members and I suspect the Navy does too.
