FT.Monmouth1943 Posted March 12, 2017 Share #1 Posted March 12, 2017 I recently picked up this Ike jacket with a nice theater made 41st Infantry division patch and some sterling 1st LT bars. The jacket appears to have had a 1st ID patch and 4 ribbons on it at one time, but sadly, along with all the buttons, they've been stripped. Also, there's no name in the jacket. I'm usually an advocate for keeping uniforms and their insignia together, but in this case I'm leaning towards stripping it. So, what's your opinion? Looking forward to your responses. - Jakob
vintageproductions Posted March 12, 2017 Share #2 Posted March 12, 2017 I would strip it. Enough stuff is missing from the Ike that taking this patch off won't hurt it all.
GDMortarman Posted March 12, 2017 Share #3 Posted March 12, 2017 strip it and sell the patch to a 41st div (Bde) combat guy

Garandomatic Posted March 12, 2017 Share #5 Posted March 12, 2017 If it had a name, I'd never dream of it. Given the circumstances (missing stuff and no name), looks like GDMortarman could put it to good use!

Mikekennedy38 Posted March 13, 2017 Share #7 Posted March 13, 2017 I have a jacket that the same thing has been done. No name And all the ribbons and buttons have been taken off. What I'm wondering is why I'm thinking that it was a worn out jacket and they transferred everything to the new one?
