What is under the digital added blue squares ?

If you zoom in you clearly could see, that there is something wrong with this picture.

Makers made a array of military ribbons for or as lapel badges, probably to the most mundane, like the WWII Victory ribbon or the Asiatic Pacific Campaign ribbon, the Army of Occupation etc etc. Whether they were worn or not? Guess it depended on the person, who had the inclination to buy it. But as one would guess, the wear of the lapel pins for the more prestigious ribbons were certainly more common, IE the Navy Cross, the Silver Star, the Purple Heart etc etc.

LBJ was awarded the Silver Star for his service during WWII. He was a memberiof congress, but took a leave of absence and served for a few months as a Navy Lt. Cmdr. and was on one of those missions that politicians love so much to gather information for President FDR. He was a passenger on an AAF bomber that came under attack by Japanese fighters. He got the medal for just being there.
