Misfit 45 Posted February 24, 2017 Share #1 Posted February 24, 2017 I bought what I thought was a junk M3 to use the pommel on my knife project and noticed that it is not the same as the one on my Utica M3. Did M3 pommels differ from on manufacturer to another? Or.... is this just an unknown knife pommel? Thanks Marv

Steve S. Posted February 24, 2017 Share #3 Posted February 24, 2017 The one pictured is the thin "washer" type used on the postwar Kutmaster & some of the Japanese produced knives, Not an actual M-3 pommel. If all you need is a pommel, I can make you one. I have M3's come in all the time with pommels that broke off & are missing.
SKIPH Posted February 24, 2017 Share #4 Posted February 24, 2017 The various M3 makers used peening, staking, and pins to attach pommels. As far as thickness, all I've seen are relatively close. SKIP
Steve S. Posted February 24, 2017 Share #5 Posted February 24, 2017 Think this is what he has. They are about half as thick as the actual M3 pommels.
Misfit 45 Posted February 25, 2017 Author Share #6 Posted February 25, 2017 Think this is what he has. They are about half as thick as the actual M3 pommels. That is exactly what I got. I saw this very one on Ebay this afternoon. Live and learn. Marv
