Lee Ragan Posted February 14, 2007 Share #17 Posted February 14, 2007 GREAT looking uniforms guys! Navy uniforms have been overlooked too long by many collectors. A nice, varied sampling that any self-respecting uniform collector would like to have. Thanks for sharing those!
collectsmedals Posted February 15, 2007 Share #18 Posted February 15, 2007 Great collection! I love Navy uniforms. Here is one of the favorite uniforms in my collection. It belonged to Vice Admiral Allen Mayhew Shinn.
coastie Posted February 15, 2007 Share #19 Posted February 15, 2007 Here is a jumper I picked up last summer I believe it's a SAW pre WWI era by it's weave and buttons.
TBMflyer Posted March 20, 2007 Share #20 Posted March 20, 2007 A close up of a USN officers tunic in my collection, nice light weight gabardine Lt.'s uniform but with great insignia. Un-named but all original. The Dolphin's and Patrol Pin are both H+H 'deepwave', pinback, the ribbons are the 'fat' Wolf-Brown type. enjoy, Mark. TBMflyer Posted March 20, 2007 Share #22 Posted March 20, 2007 Yes, it is frustrating. Both the tags in the pants and blouse are just completely faded out. Still, I think I'll hold onto it, Mark.
BEAST Posted March 21, 2007 Share #23 Posted March 21, 2007 This Aviation Green coat from my collection was worn by a Flight Surgeon aboard the USS Indpendence.
dpcsdan Posted March 27, 2007 Share #24 Posted March 27, 2007 Great items! I'm envious...didn't previously know about the WWI USN Naval Batteries, odd to include a Shipfitter rating. Would have expected Gunner's Mates, and maybe even a Fire Controlman. (EDITORS NOTE: The post referred to has been moved to its own thread: http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/ind...?showtopic=7226 ) Great closet full of CPO uniforms. Like I said, really great Navy items. -dan
