Cigarette Case & Lighter Grouping

Recommended Posts

Good afternoon. Yesterday I was able to procure the remainder of a grouping I've been working on for a 3 war veteran. I will be posting various items in the appropriate sections. These came with the grouping. Any information anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated. The lighters appear to me to be unmarked. The name and rank scratched on the black lighter is not the veteran's. (Would love to know why he kept someone else's lighter but the family didn't know.) From what little I know of lighters I believe this one to be WWII based on the color and texture (rough not smooth) of the casing. The other lighter is from his time with Constabulary post war. The occupation case speaks for itself while the X Corps I believe to be from his time in Korea.

Thanks for looking and I appreciate any information that can be added to this thread and my knowledge.

Very nice items. Are both cigarette cases Sterling silver? I think that wasn't the European standard in the 1940s. Is the second one hallmarked?

Thanks Pete. Only the X Corps case is hallmarked. The Occupation Zone doesn't appear to have any markings on it and is not sterling from what I can tell.
