Can Anybody Help With This DUI

I picked this up a few weeks ago but cant identify it can anybody help please its marked P23 made in USA on back and is a really solid pin

Thanks but were does the spear come in ? is this a variation as the usual 3rd Armoured DUI isnt like this

The 3rd Armored Division's nickname is "Spearhead." I'm guessing that's what that is.

This is an obsolete version of the 3rd AD crest

This design for the 3rd Armored Division non-color bearing units was replaced in 1983 by a patch-type DUI. "Spearhead," the nickname for the 3rd Armored Division, is right there on the tab below the armor triangle.
