Napo39 Posted February 7, 2017 #1 Posted February 7, 2017 Hi, Can you help me to ID this DUI? Thanks a lot
Proud Kraut Posted February 7, 2017 #2 Posted February 7, 2017 Altough it's looking like a silver bend and a silver horse's head on your picture it could be the DUI of the 568th Field Artillery Battalion (601st F.A.Bn). I'm referring to ASMIC's DUI Charge list: "On a red shield a gold bend and a gold mule's head". Maybe a variant.
Proud Kraut Posted February 7, 2017 #3 Posted February 7, 2017 ...and here's another thread about this insignia: http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/150325-ww2-theatre-made-artillery-unit-patch/
Napo39 Posted February 7, 2017 Author #4 Posted February 7, 2017 Thanks a lot for these informations.
matmil Posted February 8, 2017 #5 Posted February 8, 2017 It is 601 FA, the gilt has been rubbed off. A lot of people like to clean their di's and when you apply polish to a gilt di and rub to polish, the gilt will come off !
