This is an photo taken of my great grandfather and his comrades from WWI. Don't know what unit he was in, only that he was a machine gunner. This of course is not the original copy, my grandmother had the original refurbished and copies made of it. Made a pointism sketch of him for my grandfather's birthday, mostly wanted to share the picture on here. Posted Image

Great pic, it appears your grandfather is wearing a leather jerkins over his uniform. He is also wearing 1917 pattern trench boots with puttees. Looks like a winter cap on his head. Great drawing by the way.

Whenever I get the chance I'll post the other pictures of him my family has, we also have his trifold flag and his discharge papers. I chuckle everytime I look at this picture, I sort of unintentionally sized down his big dopy cauliflower ears, he was a relatively well-known boxer in New York.
