kpl1 Posted January 29, 2017 Share #1 Posted January 29, 2017 Hello Fellow Collectors, Today I bought a Box of Military items, This type plate was inside, like to put it with my WW2 Air Force Insignia. But want to know more about it, Can someone tell me if the actual plane can be traced with this plate and from wich part it came from? On both sides of the part number are digits stamped upside down 42 and 1215. Hope somebody know where I cabn find the info. Thanks in advance. wcdino685 Posted January 29, 2017 Share #3 Posted January 29, 2017 I couldn't tell you what exact aircraft it came off of, but Briggs was a auto manufacturing company in Detroit. More then likely that is off a flap/bay door or the Ball turret. here is a good reference tool for manufacturing locations that are listed on the plates http://www.heritageresearch.com/ourlibrary/databases/wwii/authorized/michigan.htm Doors B-26 c, Bulkheads B-26c, Outer wings A-20g, Wing tips A-20g, Ailerons A-20g, Outer wings B-17g, Wing tips B-17g, Stabilizers B-17g, Fins B-17g, Ailerons B-17g, Flaps B-17g, Ducts B-17g, flaps B-29, Tank hulls T-26-90 and 26-105, Aft bomb doors b-29, forward bomb doors B-29, Nose wheel doors B-29, Outer wings tby, Tools, Dies, Fixtures, Truck, Cabs and tops, Tank hulls, Etc
