Cap Camouflage Pattern I

I found this pack mislabelled on eBay, I thought it looked WWII USMC so I did a little searching, I think it is an M1941 Knapsack, if it's not I'm only out $20.

No date that I can find, I understand these were done in Elmer's disappearing purple. Where were they marked? I may be able to find it with the night vision on a camcorder.

While looking for the date I did find the name S R Mosqueda, but unfortunately Mosqueda is such a common name I don't think I can track him down.

Depot made can be dated but it was often faint or wore off quickly.

This is a early pattern(1st pattern in collectors speak) lower with the clinced buckle attachemnts and were later changed to a sewn arrangement as the clinched proved to be a weak point and tear out
