I can't seem to find a great deal about this unit's heritage. Wondering if they would have worn this design when in CA or later when they became the 99th AAA BN. The design sure looks more AA inspired to me.

 

What do you guys think?

arrived New York P/E 4 Dec 43 transferred to Camp Stewart Ga 9 Dec 43 where disbanded 29 Feb 44
1st - 3rd Battalions redesignated 99th AAA Gun, 871st AAA Auto-Wpns, and 338th AAA Searchligh Battalions respectively

According to Capistrano DIs Vo lI, 99th CA (AA) DI approved 23 Jan 42 ; redes 99th AA Bn 1944 and disbanded 1944.

Guess it wasn't worn for very long.
