wmvpdc Posted January 12, 2017 Share #1 Posted January 12, 2017 I've got what appears to be a flight suit; I'm guessing Korean War era or later but I can't say with any certainty when it was made. It's very heavy, though, and it appears to be US-made. The hardware includes Talon zippers and United Carr snaps. There are no stamps or tags that I could find, in the pockets or otherwise. The outer portion is cotton and the inner lining is wool. The two front zippers run all the way from the bottom of the leg to the neck. Any idea what this is? Eric Queen Posted January 12, 2017 Share #2 Posted January 12, 2017 That double zipper reminds me of British garments.
wmvpdc Posted January 12, 2017 Author Share #3 Posted January 12, 2017 I see what you mean there- I ldid a few searches for British flight suits and there were one or two that had a kind of similar look. None with the double zippers or hood, but there was one that had a similar buckle on the front. I haven't come across anything that is quite right, though... Tonomachi Posted January 12, 2017 Share #4 Posted January 12, 2017 This looks like a non camouflage version of the British WW2 era tankers jumpsuit.
Eric Queen Posted January 12, 2017 Share #5 Posted January 12, 2017 That's it. Do a search for WW2 British Tankers Coveralls and you will find more images. Some people mistake these for the SOE jump "striptease" suit but they are quite different. Locking this thread due to non-US content.
