URIK Posted January 12, 2017 Share #1 Posted January 12, 2017 I have a fixed loop M1 helmet with a 41CC4 heat lot number. Has anyone ever seen such a heat lot number?

URIK Posted January 12, 2017 Author Share #6 Posted January 12, 2017 At first I thought they might have been brazed but I double checked and there is a brown film (probably from rust) that reflects a gold color. The loops are pretty banged up.

URIK Posted January 12, 2017 Author Share #9 Posted January 12, 2017 While looking at the brim I discovered the name BUNKER etched into the visor.
aef1917 Posted January 12, 2017 Share #10 Posted January 12, 2017 I think it was probably supposed to be 41C and there was a problem with striking it. I've seen things like this on m1917 helmets, where they were struck double, or struck over with a different lot marking, or struck in two completely different locations. 41C would be pretty early on, while they were still working out the kinks of the manufacturing process.
