ID on Odd Spanish-American War Belt RIA 1902 Bandage Pouch

Recommended Posts

I recently picked up this belt and bandage pouch set for my collection. However, I can't find any information on the belt. The leather bandage strap on the belt is marked RIA 1902, and looks to have been attached around its time of manufacture (belt is too large for it to slide off). If anyone knows any information or has suggestions on the belt, that would be appreciated. post-164703-0-29754600-1483921855_thumb.jpg

So does the attachment on the belt unbutton or how does the pouch attach?

I have a similar bandage pouch in my collection. It is equipped with rimmed eagle button snaps. The snaps are marked on the back with the Mills patent dates. The loop in the back is just large enough to fit the M1902 garrison belt. There are no markings on the leather so I assume it was private purchase. It is made from one piece of leather, folded and stitched.

Best, George.
