Mr-X Posted October 6, 2008 Share #1 Posted October 6, 2008 I would like to have a read of the 1970 dated USAF SRU-21P Survival Vest manual. Does anybody have a copy that they can scan and post in this thread? I would really appreciate it. Please also feel free to post pics of your SRU-21P Vests and their contents. craig_pickrall Posted October 6, 2008 Share #2 Posted October 6, 2008 I'm not sure if this is the manual you had in mind but it does cover the SRU-21P. It is an old Xerox copy so there are some bad spots. Sorry about that!

craig_pickrall Posted October 6, 2008 Share #19 Posted October 6, 2008 You might want to research this one as well. It is a neat combo flak / survial vest from Vietnam era. Not seen as often as the SRU-21P.

Mr-X Posted October 24, 2008 Author Share #22 Posted October 24, 2008 I thought I'd put up a couple of pics of my new SRU-21/P. Its a large size 1970 dated vest. The set up has: 1970 dated SRU-21/P 1965 dated LPU-2/P Life Preserver The flight suit is a 1968 dated RAAF lightweight poplin flying suit. It represents what RAAF Canberra aircrew wore in Vietnam in 1970/71.

hawkdriver Posted October 24, 2008 Share #24 Posted October 24, 2008 I think your LPU is a LPU-10.
Mr-X Posted October 24, 2008 Author Share #25 Posted October 24, 2008 Just took it off the mannequin. Here's a couple of pics of the LPU-2/P. It is Oct 1965 dated as are both bladders. What the difference exactly between the LPU-2/P and the LPU-10/P ? I know the RAAF modified their LPUs during Vietnam to have a heavy duty parachute type triangular buckle sewn on the chest strap. Note sure why though.
