PFC Red Posted December 29, 2016 Share #1 Posted December 29, 2016 Hello all, Kind of an unpleasant subject, but I am in need of the investigation report on the killings of POWs by Sgt. Horace T. Wells, 180th Inf. / 45th ID during Operation Husky.Does anybody have suggestions on where I can find them? Thank you
Blacksmith Posted December 29, 2016 Share #2 Posted December 29, 2016 It is indeed Horace West, versus "Wells". For starters, the March 2013 edition of "The Army Lawyer" (PDF available online) has an article by Fred Borch on this matter. It has footnoted references to other sources, so you can build from there.

I was precisely looking at that issue of that magazine, but I was hoping to find the complete original source quoted there ("Office of the Inspector Gen., Headquarters, 45th Infantry Div., Report of Investigation of Shooting of Prisoners of War by Sgt. Horace T. West 1 (5 Aug. 1943)" I have a book where there are scans of some of the pages of the original report, but the book itself is not to be considered a reliable source. Nonetheless, I wanted to read the entire report, and in particular the interrogation of West.
