shrapneldude Posted February 4, 2012 Share #39 Posted February 4, 2012 These last two photos are tour jackets I used to have in my collection (prior to the "USMC ONLY!" split).
Wedgehead30 Posted November 27, 2014 Share #40 Posted November 27, 2014 A recent purchase at a local auction house. Not sure on the era but I'm guessing early 80's.
hooahmp2010 Posted January 5, 2017 Share #41 Posted January 5, 2017 Here's a couple photos of my grandfather's jacket from his tour to Japan in the early 50's. He was Army, used a USN jacket, painted LT bars on the shoulders (wasn't an LT) and had the Asian woman painted on the back. It makes for quite an interesting piece. I paint brushed a couple of spots on the painting to be forum friendly.
ParaOps Posted February 5, 2017 Share #42 Posted February 5, 2017 I thought I would post photos of this 'tour jacket' to the USMC 1st Recon Battalion ' I've had for some time. As you can see, the jacket is made from a poncho liner and has some interesting patches on the front and back. The jacket has a great story behind it as it was brought back from Vietnam by a female volunteer of the Red Cross who swapped a set of her underwear for the jacket! Maybe the underwear insignia with wings has something to do with this trade? I appreciate any comments. Paul

Old Marine Posted April 30, 2021 Share #48 Posted April 30, 2021 This running outfit was made at Camp Schwab, Okinawa in 1975. I don’t know what ever happened to the trousers.
Cpl. Punishment Posted September 1, 2023 Share #49 Posted September 1, 2023 here is one of my favorites. Given to me by the veteran himself (he knew I had bought his tiger stripes and he wanted me to have his other items). He has sadly since passed away. C 2/47th Infantry from 1969-1970. He said the scariest day of his life was when they went into Cambodia and were guarding a large cache.
