Navybean Posted December 21, 2016 Share #1 Posted December 21, 2016 I picked this M422A up a couple of years ago and I can not identify the squadron patch on the chest. The jacket is has a USN name tag and a twill type squadron patch. Can anybody ID the patch for me? I would appreciate any help. thanks Mike Go Navy!

Patchcollector Posted December 21, 2016 Share #4 Posted December 21, 2016 Interesting patch.I really like the design. Not sure of the ID.Sometimes the Reserve units can be tough to pin down. High Flight Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth And danced the skies on laughter-silver wings; Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth Of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung High in the sunlit silence. Hovering there I've chased the shouting wind along and flung My eager craft through footless halls of air. Up, up the long delirious, burning blue I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace, where never lark, or even eagle flew; and while, with silent, lifting mind I've trod The high untrespassed sanctity of space, Put out my hand, and touched the face of God. Navybean Posted December 21, 2016 Author Share #5 Posted December 21, 2016 when I first saw the patch I was not even sure the patch was military but it matches same thread the name tag was attached to the jacket with. It also appears to be similar in construction to other 50's era squadron patches I have seen.. Go Navy!
