Bob Hudson Posted December 16, 2016 Share #1 Posted December 16, 2016 This was presented to a three-star US Air Force general who was commander of 12th Air Force. His duties included liaison with air forces in Central and South America for Southern Command. This gaucho style dagger has the Argentine Air Force wings in gold on the scabbard. The scabbard and grip are "Alpaca Silver" which is the same as "Nickel silver" - no actual silver but an alloy of copper, zinc and nickel.
sundance Posted December 16, 2016 Share #2 Posted December 16, 2016 Well that's flashy. I'm a sucker for knives so I like it. Any idea how it was worn? I don't see rings or a stud.

Bob Hudson Posted December 16, 2016 Author Share #7 Posted December 16, 2016 nice pieces, seems no end to the presentations given the higher ranks................dave Yeah, flag and general officers whose duties involve other nations get a lot of souvenirs, but even US commands resulted in some interesting gifts, such as these to an Admiral who got fits galore from US and foreign services.
