Crasher Posted December 15, 2016 Share #1 Posted December 15, 2016 I recently picked up a WWI mess kit and silverware set that is all unit marked to the same unit. I've been trying to ID it, but can't seem to find anything on what the naming scheme is for unit markings. I'm more of a WWII guy, so WWI stuff is a bit foreign to me. I would have thought that it stands for 106th Regiment, Field Battalion, don't know what SC stands for (maybe signal corps?), US Army, Company C, 89th on the roster. Am I off base? I can't seem to find anything on any unit close to that.
aef1917 Posted December 15, 2016 Share #2 Posted December 15, 2016 My guess would be 106th Field Signal Battalion.

Crasher Posted December 15, 2016 Author Share #4 Posted December 15, 2016 Thanks guys! Looks like they were a part of the 31st Division during the war, and sent to Europe in Sept '18.
