hhbooker2 Posted October 4, 2008 Share #1 Posted October 4, 2008 "Greetings & Salutations!" The Old Guard founded in 1826 published a fund raising issue of their magazine titled: "Souvenir of the Old Guard Fair in aid of New Armory Fund - Madison Square Garden - October 5 to 10, 1903." They wore a special uniform that appears to had originated in or before 1825 and show various veterans individual photographs. It is interesting to look at the 105-year old militaria publication. The front cover starts with a beautiful painting showing an Okd Guard member, perhaps a Drum Major? Enjoy! hhbooker2 Posted October 4, 2008 Author Share #2 Posted October 4, 2008 Its my belief they sold pages to advertisers in order to pay the printing costs of this publication, nonetheless, many ads are orientated toward the military, so it would seem?
