Bugme Posted October 4, 2008 Share #1 Posted October 4, 2008 I have an opportunity to buy an entire grouping of items from a WWII Hellcat fighter pilot. I would like some of the experts here to verify that these are indeed legitimate wings. Sure would appreciate any and all help.
Gary Cain Posted October 4, 2008 Share #2 Posted October 4, 2008 They look fine from the front. Are they real metal thread? What does the back look like? Gary
Bugme Posted October 4, 2008 Author Share #3 Posted October 4, 2008 Here's some better shots. Just so you all know, I know nothing about wings.

pfrost Posted October 4, 2008 Share #6 Posted October 4, 2008 Don't know about the provenance, but Gary is correct, those are perfectly legit WWII USN bullion pilot wings. Patrick

Bugme Posted October 4, 2008 Author Share #8 Posted October 4, 2008 Thanks guys, I'll post the entire grouping later in the "Groupings" area. I'll have a lot of pictures and documentation. I had shown this to Imperial Quest and he suggested posting the wings first since these are the most faked of the items that I have. I'll have this grouping in my hands for inspection for the next seven days. I got this from another local collector and have not purchased it yet.
