VP-4 helmet

Nice items. The flight helmet bag has USN NFO wings on it and looking at the slide

rule, I would guess that the items belonged to a Tactical Coordinator (TACCO) or

navigator aboard a Lockheed P-3 Orion aircraft. The helmet shell could be the

PRK-37/P in the HGU-47(v)4/P configuration.

PRK-40/P is the designation for the styrofoam liner with foam/leather fitting pads.

Is there a nape strap on the helmet shell? The contract year is 1980 and made by

Gentex (97427 mfr code). Hope this helps.

The helmet has a nape strap.
