fathertime Posted December 3, 2016 Share #1 Posted December 3, 2016 I have been looking at alot of WW1 state awards on different sites. some seem to have been issued by hometowns, or possibly towns the soldiers mustered in, or by their home states. Is there a good reference site that explains these awards, or even a book? I am looking for one from North Dakota, and or Minnesota. Hooah! Tim B Posted December 3, 2016 Share #2 Posted December 3, 2016 You could start with these three, though each has its own merits over the other.
Tim B Posted December 3, 2016 Share #3 Posted December 3, 2016 There are also past JOMSA issues that cover many of these, though I do not know what specific issues you would need to find.
MWalsh Posted December 4, 2016 Share #4 Posted December 4, 2016 I posted pics of a bunch of Minnesota ones to the OMSA website and picture reference database, about 8 or 10 years ago, they are still there at last check.
fathertime Posted December 8, 2016 Author Share #5 Posted December 8, 2016 Thank you, I ordered the Louis Small book used on Amazon. That OMSA site is a treasure trove.
