Help with WWII ? era camouflage material

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I recently went to an estate sale, in one of the rooms was a large amount of fabric, dating from the early 1900's to the 1960's. In one of the boxes, I found this piece of woodland camouflage fabric. The pattern is very nice, the problem is the fabric is very thin, almost like a summer dress shirt thin. Anyone have any input? Thanks in advance.

There was a thin camo clothing bag many Marines purchased in the 50s and early 60s.

That is strange, because it's printed in the "reversed" color scheme that the Marine Corps Ponchoes are printed in. Maybe it's a piece of the fabric that was used to vulcanize to the waterproof material to manufacture the Poncho?

I'm so old, I still call W.W.II U.S. militaria "war surplus".
