He flew in the Pacific with the 42nd Bomb Group, rising to the rank of LtCol by end of the war at age 26. He made Colonel in the USAF in 1951 at age 32! He flew F-86s in Korea. The P-3 is decorated with the patch of the 93rd Fighter Squadron and an insignia of a top-hatted skull with a cane. Can anyone i.d. that skull patch/insignia? The skull patch/insignia looks familiar. Will have to do more research.
