lakenormanusa Posted November 19, 2016 Share #1 Posted November 19, 2016 I would appreciate any information about this Submarine Badge. It is a full size (2-3/4"), pinback, marked Sterling. Also marked CWP on the left and 6D on the right. I am curious to know the era or this piece (WWII?) and what CWP and 6D may indicate. Thanks in advance! Tonomachi Posted November 19, 2016 Share #2 Posted November 19, 2016 This 6D hallmark was used by the Denmark Military Equipment Corporation, New York from about mid 1950s to mid 1960s.

patches Posted November 19, 2016 Share #4 Posted November 19, 2016 Interesting on the additional mark CWP, Denmark during this period (mid 50s-mid 60s) from what we seen used either the 6D by itself or Denmark NY 6D. An example of 6D by itself. http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/238019-denmark-new-york/

lakenormanusa Posted November 19, 2016 Author Share #6 Posted November 19, 2016 As a stretch, could this be the initials of the Sailor how wore this badge, personally engraved??? I thought about that, but the letters appear to be stamped vs. engraving.

lakenormanusa Posted March 24, 2017 Author Share #9 Posted March 24, 2017 HMM yes I got ya, I,m stumped. I found out that CWP stands for "Controlled Work Package" which was a certification stamp of quality control for contracted manufacturing.
